Meet Your Doula

Meet Your Doula

Courtney Arroyo

After the birth of my first child — and through my own journey as a preemie and NICU mom — I quickly realized how many families walk through this life-changing season without the support they truly need.

As a military wife, I’ve seen firsthand how living far from family and community can leave new parents feeling isolated and overwhelmed.

My Journey Into Birth Work

So, I began showing up however I could: dropping off meals, helping set up nurseries, and checking in with expectant and brand-new parents. Friends often came to me with their questions about birth, and I loved helping them find answers — encouraging them to talk openly with their providers about their hopes, preferences, and dreams for their birth. Watching families feel informed, supported, and empowered as part of a cohesive team was life-giving. What started as a simple desire to care for others soon became something much deeper. With a little encouragement from loved ones who saw how much joy it brought me, I stepped fully into birth work, and I’ve never looked back.

My Approach

With a background in kinesiology and certification as a birth doula, I now have the absolute joy of supporting families through a wide range of birthing experiences — from peaceful birth center deliveries and cozy home births to high-risk pregnancies, twin births, and VBACs. I’m deeply passionate about honoring birth as a natural, physiological process and trusting the innate wisdom of the body.

Beyond Birth Work

When I’m not attending births, you’ll usually find me outdoors with my husband and our two toddlers — splashing in the water, hiking, or soaking up the sunshine. Once the kids are tucked in, we love unwinding with a board game or puzzle (ideally with snacks involved!).
