Postpartum doula & newborn care

Rest, Recover and Feel Cared for at Home

Our postpartum doulas and newborn care specialists provide non-medical support in your home during the fourth trimester, whether you gave birth at a hospital, a birth center or at home. Many families looking for a night nurse are really looking for this.

Why it matters

The Early Weeks Are Beautiful and Often Overwhelming

Research links postpartum support with lower rates of postpartum anxiety, more breastfeeding success, better physical recovery and greater confidence as parents. In a culture where many families raise babies without relatives nearby, we become part of your village.

Doula, night nurse or night nanny?

A night nurse is a licensed nurse who provides medical care. A night nanny cares for your baby. A postpartum doula or newborn care specialist cares for your baby and supports your recovery, feeding and confidence as a parent. Some of our postpartum doulas and newborn care specialists are also licensed nurses. When you book through Nurture & Nest, you're booking them in their role as a postpartum doula or newborn care specialist, not as a nurse.

Overnight help is not missing out

Some parents worry that help at night means missing special moments. Rest makes it easier to enjoy your baby during the day, recover from birth, and care for your own mental health.

When to book

Many families book during pregnancy so care can start as soon as they come home. We also help families who reach out after the baby arrives, when availability allows.
