Memorial doulasIn West Houston's Memorial, Energy Corridor and Spring Branch neighborhoods, many of the families we support are working professionals who moved to Houston for their careers and have no relatives nearby. Our postpartum and overnight care is built for exactly that.
Many families here start by searching for a night nurse. What most want is a trained postpartum doula or newborn care specialist who cares for the baby overnight and supports the parents' recovery during the day.

“If you are on the fence about hiring a doula, hire Courtney. If you are expecting and haven't given a doula any thought, still go ahead and hire Courtney. She was absolutely invaluable throughout pregnancy/postpartum and especially during labor and delivery. With a background in pelvic health, I did what I could to help prepare for delivery but things don't always go as planned. Courtney helped ease our minds and helped navigate changes as they came. She provided unbiased guidance so we could make informed decisions during the whole process.”
Natalie Hager · Google review“We truly cannot say enough amazing things about our doula. From the very beginning, she educated us on every aspect of birth and walked us through all of the unbiased options and decisions we might face. Because of her guidance, my husband felt informed, confident, and fully involved in the process—and that made all the difference when he needed to make several last-minute decisions while I couldn’t. She created such a calm, comfortable environment and was an incredible source of support for both of us. Her presence gave us confidence we didn’t even know we needed, and we genuinely felt cared for every step of the way. We would hire her again for every birth if possible. She is truly exceptional, and we are so grateful for her.”

Is a postpartum doula the same as a night nurse?
Not exactly. A night nurse is a licensed nurse. Our postpartum doulas and newborn care specialists provide overnight care for your baby and support your recovery and feeding. Some of them are also licensed nurses, but when you book through Nurture & Nest, they support you in their role as a postpartum doula or newborn care specialist, not as a nurse.
