Before having a baby, I had the opportunity to compete at some of the higher levels of my sport and the honor of helping coach and prepare others. So when it came to be my time, I knew exactly what to do.
I treated birth like it was about to be the biggest competition of my life. I was dedicated, disciplined, and confident, only to be met with providers who doubted me, who didn’t see me for me and just wanted to move me along their system.
And this led to my journey into birth work.
In martial arts, who you have in your corner can make or break you, so I started my search for my birth team. I wanted at least one person I could trust by my side. So I interviewed doulas, in case I wasn’t able to switch providers. I was blessed that I ended up finding midwives who understood my preferences as an athlete and an individual.
At the end of the day, I just needed people who believed in me. After my home birth, many women in our community came to me for support, advice, and resources for their pregnancies. I thrived in this space and decided to go through doula training to be able to better serve women.
I bring a holistic, athlete-minded approach to birth, supporting families with preparation, resilience, and deep trust in the body’s natural abilities. I believe every woman deserves a team that sees her strength and honors her individual goals. My role is to stand firmly in your corner, offering grounded encouragement and unwavering belief throughout your journey.
When I am not supporting births, I teach jiu-jitsu, spend time with my husband, and stay busy chasing after my son. These moments keep me grounded, active, and deeply connected to the heart behind the work I do.
